Article Writing Ebooks

What should I put on my writer’s website?

I have a few things published on ehow.com and associatedcontent.com, but my goal is to write ebooks, feature articles, books, etc. I am setting up my website and I need some ideas on the type of information to put on it.

Some information about the author (ie: you) is always interesting, both some personal info (where you live (keep it vague of course!), what your hobbies might be) and professional info (how you got into writing, your qualifications, if applicable).

I also like samples of the author’s writing, and maybe some reviews from trustworthy, objective sources.

I have recently visited a couple of (unknown) author’s websites which really turned me off. One in particular was a very arrogant person who had written all the information in third person as if it were done by an independent reviewer, but the praise was so fulsome and the claims so laughable it was an immediate turn-off. Obviously you don’t want to do that. What I would have liked to tell that person is that a little bit of humility goes a long way towards securing the public’s goodwill. Truthfulness doesn’t hurt, either.
